Create the World YOU want to See

Hi there, and good afternoon everyone! Today I have a canvas to share that I made using lots of products from the Your Memories Here store. I tried to use as few products from other stores as possible. The majority of everything on this canvas is from Your Memories Here and the wonderful kits/grab bags Kristina sells! 

The background of my canvas was covered with papers from the Out of the Blue kit which contains lovely Prima Fairy Belle papers.  The tree was cut out of patterned paper from my North Country paper pad which is in the North Country kit in the store. I used Creative Inspirations Paint to cover my background so that the patterned papers would still be slightly visible. The tree also has some of the paint on it in addition to some Prima Stamps and acrylic paints. The flowers are made from Prima Say it in Crystals from one of the kits. The leaves on the tree were from a CHA Summer 2012 Grab Bag that I cut down smaller so that they would fit on my tree and where adhered with Helmar 450 Quick Dry.  Lots more CI Paints, acrylic paints, Faber-Castell pens and stamps were used throughout the piece. 

The sun/heart at the top was made using a technique I learned from Christy Tomlinson. All it is is tin foil shaped like a heart and covered in old book paper. Many of my mixed media pieces are inspired by here work... it is just so bright and colorful!!! After the papers had dried, I used my paints on it and added a sticker phrase from Cosmo Cricket. 

Here is the canvas from the side. As you can see, I made sure to add color to the sides. I also took my stamp pad along the edges for some more texture. This is a MUST when making a mixed media project. You can almost never have enough texture on your project! 

Keep in mind, not only from the piece I have shared today, but from some of the other non-traditional projects that my fellow DT gals make, that your scrapbooking supplies don't just have to be used for layouts, cards and tags, but can be altered and utilized for so much more! Get creative, messy and HAVE FUN!!! 

Wall Hanging

Hey everyone, Heather here with something a little different to share this week. I got my prima grab bag in the mail a couple days ago and was VERY excited. One of the things I got was a prima "build a book" front & back cover. I wasn't really in the mood to start a mini album so I decided to use one of the covers to make a wall hanging instead.



 

Since I didn't want anyone to be able to see the wall through the red cover I started by covering the back using a piece of prima cardstock. I made sure to put my adhesive where it would be covered by the photo later. I cut around the edges with my craft knife.

 



 

 

The next step was to tie some ribbon on so it had something to hang on & cover up the 'extra' holes. I did so by glimmer misting a doily to match my piece and trimming off the extra.

 



 

 

After that I could decorate & embellish like usual, here's a few close ups:

 



 

 

The red backing, red flower, red crystals, and cream colored ribbon are all Prima.

Mixed Media Page with DeNetra

Hey everyone. I have a short and sweet post for you today. 

 I only played with some Distress Crackle Paint, and Distress Stains. 

So you can image how easy it is to take some tim holtz and just go with the flow. 

I also used Prima's Welcome To Paris paper.

A Thank You-with Prima

Good Saturday morning! I hope everyone is happy to be going into the weekend and sending out happy thoughts to those working it. :) I'm pleased to be sharing with you today a wonderful card I created using Prima goodies from Your Memories Here. I first created a tag card using an SVG cutting file and my cameo. I applied some beautiful Prima flowers,leaves and a pretty tile piece with Helmars. In addition, they are applied to some beautiful Prima DP from the Sunkiss Collection. I popped one of the die cut pieces up but, it's difficult to see in the photo. I finished it off with some Prima pearl bling and a raffia tie. Your Memories Here makes it easy to express your own personal style complete with all the crafting supplies you need. Snow Angel - Prima BAP

TGIF! Dana here today sharing a layout that was inspired by Prima's January Build-A-Page Sketch. The supplies for this layout came in my Prima Grab Bag and are a mix of the Rondelle and Almanac lines.

The Shabby Chic Treasures designed by Ingvild Bolme are gorgeous and I used a set of the resin wings for the base of my title cluster. I love the texture of the Prima Alphabet Stickers!

Another favorite embellishment of mine are the Prima butterflies.  I love the variety of butterfly embellishments but I find myself drawn to this particular style the most because of the rhinestone body and glittery wings.

Mmm I probably have you craving one now, huh?

I recently had my first Starbucks experience. I know, I know, but I only just started drinking coffee a few months ago. I've been on night shift for over five years & never had coffee. I always thought it tasted like burnt water. For some reason this winter, a warm drink with some caffeine was very appealing to me.

A few weekends ago, I had my first Starbucks order. Let's just say this was Heaven in my mouth & I will be a repeat customer.

Almost everything on this layout came from one of the Prima grab bags I recently ordered. If you're like me, you're a little nervous about ordering grab bags. You want to know what you're getting! Well, since they're now supersuper cheap, I decided to order a small one. The small ones are clearanced right now for $25 & the amount of product I received was a steal! The papers are Prima Melody collection & the flower stickers are also Prima. I used a Prima stamp (from the grab bag) to stamp on the light paper behind my photo with antique linen distress ink by Tim Holtz.

OMG 17

Hi everyone, Nancy here!  Today I wanted to share with you something a little different, emphasis on the little.  hee hee  Everyone knows that Prima is great for those girly, flowery pages....but what about the men/boys in your life?  It has been known to happen before that I have chosen to add a few flowers, maybe even a bit of pink to my masculine pages, but today....

I used a piece of paper from my Out of the Blue Collection for the background and mixed it with a bit of some older Londonerry papers from a few releases ago with some of the fun chipboards from the summer release, Craftsman.

I love these photos of my son on his birthday.  I can't believe he is already 17.

A Memory Lives Forever - Altered Shipping Tag

Good afternoon everyone! I hope you are all having a great week thus far. Just think, tomorrow is the middle of the week and it will be half over for most, as far as work weeks go! That is always something to look forward to. 

Today I have a tag I created using the Out of the Blue Prima kit that is still available in the YMH Store.  The kit is full of wonderful goodies. I'm in love with the fairy papers. Fairies are a favorite of mine, so I really fell in love with this collection! 

I used some of the paper from the kit for the tag, as well as to stamp my sentiment on. The flowers are also from the kit as well. The wooden ticket is from a Summer 2012 CHA Prima Grab bag. (There are still two sizes available in the store!) The ticket is from the Tea Thyme collection. 

The tag has a vintage romantic feel. I'm not sure what I will do with this one just yet. I was thinking about making a display for all of my tags. This way I can change them out.  Tim Holtz has a Configurations Print tray which is sold in the store that would be great to fill with various size tags, momentos and other odds and ends. I have been thinking about getting one to use for some of my tags that are similar in theme, to create one large piece of art. What do you think?

The flowers from the Out of the Blue kit are so pretty! I love mixing and matching them. 

I used some old twine I have to add a tie to the top so it can be hung if needed. I tend to stick to neutral colors as often as I can so that they can easily be paired with other projects and supplies. :) It is one thing I try to keep in common with the majority of my work. Is there a common theme in your work or supplies?

Ready for a Night on the Town

Hey everyone,

It's monday which means it's Heather here with a project to share. Lots of ink and stickles on this one you guys :)



 

 

 

Those are pictures of my grandparents from a few years back when they were all fixed up for a class reunion. Aren't they cute? ;)

 

For this part of the page I put down some texture paste and after it dried went back over it with some Stickles and Ranger distress ink.

This was actually just a piece of scrap paper I put under a dressform embellishment (for another project) I was prepping for paint. I thought it looked too pretty to throw away so I distressed the edges, added Stickles and Glimmer Mist and made something beautiful out of something that might have just been thrown away.

FireFly Birthday Card with DeNetra

Hey everyone. I hope you all had an awesome weekend. 

I am here to share a Birthday card with you. 

I used the Fire Fly paper by Prima. 

I also used Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Black Soot. 

When I first used this pad I added white as an accent color. 

This time I choose to use black. 

What a pop !

Amazing~a Prima tag

Good Morning crafty friends. Sorry for the late post. What started out as allergies from the current red tide we are experiencing here in Florida I think has turned into a bit of nasty cold. Either way, I feel really rundown. At any rate, I didn't want to let the Your Memories Here fabulous team down! So, I whipped up a quick tag using all Prima products here along with a background created with Adirondack color wash sprays and Prima Chalk Inks. I LOVE these sprays and chalk inks. I really wanted to create something of feminine but, Mixed Media quality. I used some foam stamps from the Songbird collection as well as some canvas leaves, flowers and say it with pearls spray. The sentiment stamps are from the Zephyr collection grab bag.
I adhered the flowers and canvas leaves down with Helmar's 450. Tags are so fun to make so make sure you pick up some fun  crafty supplies for yourself and make some of your own TODAY! :P

Love You - Glitz Design Cashmere Dame

Hi YMH fans!  I hope you are all having a fabulous New Year!  Dana here sharing a layout I created with the Glitz Design Cashmere Dame 6x6 Paper Pad!  I had a lot of fun piecing papers together to fit my 12x12 layout.

I used Glitz Design Paper Layers for the photo mat.  I cut this typewriter from a Paper Layer and added my own stamped message.

2012 recap [a 12x12 layout].

One of the things I wanted to try this year is 12x12 layouts. I've scrapped 8.5x11 since I started scrapbooking when I was 16. I thought a great place to start with the larger size would be a year end review page.

The background paper is Fancy Pants. The other patterned papers are from the Glitz Design yours truly 6x6 paper pack. I added a strip of Prima cotton tape at the top & used the Prima mask with Moonlight Glimmer Mist.

The stamp in the middle of the page is from Technique Tuesday simple joy & the ink is walnut stain by Tim Holtz distress ink. 

I adhered the Studio Calico wood veneer states with Helmar 450 quick dry adhesive. For a final touch, I added some crystals by Prima.  

I'll get better with taking photos of my 12x12 layouts as the year goes on, I promise! (My scanner isn't large enough to scan 12x12 layouts). Be sure to stop by my blog for more details about this layout.

Drink Up

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you another project I made with the stunning Out of the Blue kit from Your Memories Here.  I just love all the goodies in this kit, the Fairy Belle papers and embellishments are just gorgeous.

I paired the beautiful papers with a few goodies from my stash.  Some hand cut fabric banners, a bit of baker's twine, a couple of wooden birds and a few Prima leaves.

The colors in the Out of the Blue kit are just beautiful, so soft and girly.  And with my Prima Distress tool and some Distress Inks, I was able to create a beautiful, shabby chic layout.

Did I mention how much I love the mix of flowers in this kit?  ....oh my.

Learn to Pause... a tag using Prima

Good afternoon! Emily here with a tag I made using some goodies from the Your Memories Here store. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year! I can hardly believe that it is already 2013!! I will have to get used to writing that on my paperwork from now on! 

For today, I created a tag using some of the wonderful Prima products that were in my Summer CHA Grab Bag! I still have so many things left to use from the bag, it's crazy! There are still some Grab Bags left in the store, so get yourself one as a New Year gift while you still can! There are even some Winter Grab Bags left as well. 

For the tag I used some packaging from some Prima flowers for one side of my tag. The packaging Prima makes is all reusable which I love! Talk about saving planet earth and reusing! 

I added the flower, a couple of stamps, the pins and my sentiment to the front side of the tag. Before I added them, I used some Distress Stain to make the tag look a bit more aged. After the stain was added I sprayed the tag with water and used my heat gun to dry it. I love the water splotches that this creates! The antique silver paint is a shimmery paint I added to bring out the silver of the pins. I also added some of the paint to the pins and flower. 

Here is a bit of a close up for you... 

On the back side of the tag I used the Craftsman stamps, along with more Distress Stain and some shimmery paint. The distressed look never gets old and is a great way to go, especially if you are making something for a man, or want your work to be a little less feminine.
