Mixed Media Project with DeNetra (and Tips)

Hey everyone. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers in our lives. I hope you 

all enjoy your day today. 

I am sharing a Mixed Media Project with you. Using Prima's Engraver line.
I also share some tips with pictures below.
The Engraver line is a must have because you can
add any color to the neutral color palette of the line. 

I also used Prima's wood pieces, metal, canvas resist and chipboard.
Tim Holtz crackle paint is a must have too.

I mixed food coloring in my white paint to make this color

Here are some papers that I will layer together

I just added a lite swiping of color with my paint

I am using this lace and crackle paint at a mask

easy way to add texture and pattern without masks

Now I am painting this lace with white crackle paint

added some embellishments

here I am adding texture paste  to this mixed matched butterfly

you can pull the top layer off of your chipboard pieces...I am going to paint it

stretch your metal embellishments by cutting them in half.

Hi YMH fans! Nice to have the weekend here! and I'm happy to share with you today a card I made using all Prima products and a new technique I learned from Cari Fennell at the Sweet Retreat.
I really like the randomness of Mixed Media. It broadens my viewpoints and inspires me to try new things. So, I decided to pull out some Prima goodness I purchased from Your Memories Here and go to town!
The new technique I decided to use was taking some Studio multi-medium and applying it through my new Prima gears mask onto some Prima Craftsman DP. I zapped it with my Ranger heat it craft gun then, went over it with some Ranger distress stain in "peacock feathers". Furthermore, I distressed the sides of the DP as well as the card itself to give it a more uniform feel. I then used some Craftsman wood pieces and some self adhesive chipboard applied to some new Prima lace ribbon to finish.

Celebrate!!

Hi everyone! I hope your day is going well! All is well with us.. recently Austin went to a birthday party for one of his friends and needed a Birthday Card, so I took it upon my crafty self to make one using some great products I got from Your Memories Here! 

I created the green, blue and black background using my Gelli Plate and some acrylic paints. I used some Antique Linen Distress Stain around the edges to match the aged look of the chevron paper I used from my Glitz Design Casmere Dame paper pad. 

Studio Matte Medium was used not only to adhere the papers down to the cardstock, but to also take away any glossiness the papers or stickers might have.  I love the matte medium... it makes a great adhesive and sealant. Zapdots were used on the Celebrate and 9 sticker for more dimension.

ENJOY Wall Art with Heidi NYC

I LOVE altering items! I have a two drawers and a shelf in my closet that are jam packed with those items to be altered "someday". For this project, I grabbed an oval piece out of the drawer. It felt like the perfect piece to alter using some of the gorgeous Prima papers and flowers that I picked up at Your Memories Here. I covered the piece with some gorgeous Prima paper and highlighted some of the elements on the paper with Rock Candy Stickles. (see the flowers on the right side of the piece?) From there, I altered the letters with Glimmer Mist and Rock Candy again. I love the texture that the Distress Stickles give to just about anything. I added some lace, flowers (of course), bling, trim and butterflies! It is hanging in my art studio-I love how it pops against the beautiful color of my walls.

Ooops!!

So I'm in the bathroom brushing my hair after getting up from falling asleep in the chair after reading a book..........LOL and suddenly BOOM!! It hit me! Oh NO!! I forgot to post on Your Memories Here DT blog!!! ACK!!! I am STILL so stoked about our Sweet Retreat trip. I keep dreaming and reminiscing about all the fun things we did and how much I want to go bacccccccccccck! It was SO nice to just.....escape. To go to a dreamy place surrounded by beautiful Prima goodies, wonderful friends and laughter that filled the air almost constantly. I miss the good chats and the building of friendships. I am definitely planning on going to another one next year. For sure. I'm sorry if you weren't able to make it this time but, I felt like sharing a beautiful page I worked on with Cari's instruction and products that are available for you to do the same thing via Your Memories Here. I'm not sure if you can see the texture on the page or not but, Cari taught us a technique of using a Prima stencil with some molding paste through it then spraying it.Isn't it beautiful?! This page includes embellishments from the canvas pieces as well which are colored with Ranger Distress Stain. You can find some beautiful Prima flowers HERE.

Tiny Dancers - Pink Paislee Hope Chest

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you a project I made with the beautiful Hope Chest collection from Pink Paislee.

I love the beautiful, soft colors of this collection and couldn't resist mixing it with a few gorgeous Prima flowers as well as one of the burlap flowers from the Cottage Farms collection.

 The glittered burplap butterflies in this collection are just gorgeous

And of course, everything deserved a quick swipe of Distress Ink to add interest and definition.

Pursue what Catches Your Heart - using Prima and Glitz Design

Hi friends! How are you all today? I'm doing well, and today, as I promised last week I have a project to share with you that I made using a few new things from Your Memories Here. :) 

I have been really into making wall hangings and wall decor. Okay, I've been into making things like this for a while now. You've seen enough of my projects to know this. Hehe. :) 

I received the Prima Flowers Grab Bag recently and was in love with this teal flower that was in one of the collections. It's so pretty, and I thought it would look fabulous against some black and white. 

Here's how it looks... 

I used the Glitz Cashmere Dame paper pad for the black and white chevron paper. I think it's too yummy, don't you?? I actually chose to get the four pack of Glitz paper pads which is a fantastic steal! You get four 6x6 pads for $24, plus FREE shipping! 

The bracket that this hanging is on is a page from a wood mini album which I painted with Black Gesso and spritzed with some Dylustions Spray. After it dried and the paper was added, I sealed it all in using Studio Multi-Medium. Afterwards, I added the sentiment, gave it some dimension with my Pitt Pens and then sealed it again with the Multi-Medium.

Altered Ribbon Spool With Heidi

 

I created this spool out of chipboard and went C-R-A-Z-Y adding Prima flowers and bling! Most of the flowers (and the flower stamp) are Prima. I picked them up at Your Memories Here where you can find that best selection of Prima!
