After All These Years

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you a bit about the My Prima Place magazine.  Did you know that when you place your Prima order with Your Memories Here you get a fabulous publication that is produced by Prima Marketing?  Each issue is chock full of inspiration with lots of projects (many including step by step instructions), a designer showcase, challenges, and freebies (yep, gorgeous free Prima paper).

I took the recipe challenge from Vol. 1 to complete this layout.  The recipe called for lots of goodies from the Almanac collection, which I just happened to have on hand thanks to my fabulous grab bag from Your Memories Here.
The florals, wood clocks, canvas resist, and pearls...oh my!  They were just crying out to be layered and stacked.  And I used my Prima Distress Tool to distress my papers for texture.
There is still time for you to grab a complete collection, even the mid release Firefly, or mixed bag (three sizes available)  and the newest volume of My Prima Place.  So....what are you waiting for?  Isn't it time for a bit of inspiration?

Hugs.

Nancy

Love You Always and Have a Lovely Day

Good Morning! Emily here with two cards that I made using lovely goodies from the Your Memories Here Store!

The first card I have was made using all Prima Marketing products with a little bit of Webster's Pages. The papers and flower are both by Prima and the gem trim is by Websters Pages.

Prima Paper: Flirty Little Secret - Memoirs
Prima Flower: Coventry Rose Printery
Gems: Websters Pages

I absolutely love this patterned paper and how it already looks like it is stamped on, so instead of adding any more papers to it, I decided to keep it simple. I used white gesso around the edges of the patterned paper and in a spot towards the bottom so that I could stamp my sentiment on it. I used a dry brush to apply the gesso.

I didn't have the exact color I wanted for the sentiment, so I applied a midnight blue color to my stamp with an evergreen color applied over that. It was the first time I tried this technique, so I tested it out several times until I got it the way I wanted it to look. :) This is a good reason to always have scrap papers around.

For my second card, I decided I would use some of my Websters Pages goodies I have, which can also be purchased from the store. I loved the kite paper so much, I decided to create a larger version of the kites to hold my sentiment.
Websters Pages: Petite papers - Sunday Picnic & Everyday Poetry
Websters Pages Trim: Let's Celebrate Trim
Gems
Twine

This card was super easy to make, and a lot of fun. There are so many fun papers out there that you can draw inspiration from for your projects. This was one of those cases. I loved the kites, so I made a larger one for the same card I used the kite paper on. And it worked out well.

Below are two more views of the kite card...

Roxy

Hey everyone! Heather here with another page to share with you using some great products from the Your Memories Here store. The star of my page this week is my mom's very adorable dog Roxy. It's not very often I actually get any good 'scrapable' pictures of her, so I was excited when I saw these.

Isn't she cute?! I wanted to create a soft pretty background so that the pics would really POP. I did so by using a mask and about 4 different colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

Close up of some gorgeous Prima Flowers and that adorable dog!

I created this by gluing some Prima Flowers onto a vine I had in my stash & using some Prima Crystals as centers.

I distressed the edges here and then inked using Ranger Distress Ink and added some Stickles for that little something extra. No such thing as too much bling, right?

Thanks for looking! Create something beautiful today ladies :)

Peace & love.

Life is Sweet

Hi there! It's Sue back with another project created with some fun supplies from Your Memories Here.  Today I'm sharing with you a postcard that I created to give to my mom. I am so proud of her as she decided to finally get away on a long deserved girlfriend getaway in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. I used some collage sheets from London Market along with some beautiful Prima embellishments from the Romance Novel Collection available in the CHA Summer 2012 grab bags. Along with using some Helmar Quick Dry Adhesive to attach them with. The sentiment is a Prima stamp that I purchased separately. However, Kristina has some lovely Prima stamps available at the store that are just perfect to create a lovely paper craft project, layout, etc.

I really love the combination of color here against the dark bkgd. It really makes it pop and the postcards are so fun to make as well as easy to display. So why not try making one yourself using some creative embellishments and supplies from Your Memories Here! and if you haven't heard or were not aware, Your Memories Here has a Pinterest page as well if you would like to come visit there too! Thank you for joining us today!

Domino Mini Book - Prima Almanac Collection

Hi!  It's Dana here today.  A couple months ago I altered a pair of dominoes. I have made them into a mini book by attaching two pieces of ribbon and a folded piece of patterned paper from the Prima Almanac collection to the back side of the dominoes.

The mini book opens from either side by untying the ribbon.  One side has some excerpts from the readings at my wedding ceremony.  The other side is full of photos from my special day.

If you want to alter some dominoes of your own in a similar fashion, Vol. 1 of the Prima Marketing magazine My Prima Place includes a step-by-step tutorial of  Heidi Kelley's Domino Necklace.  I followed her instructions to alter my dominoes.

Thanks for stopping by today! Prima Pre-Orders are available in the Your Memories Here Store! If you have your eye on 1, or 7, of the new Prima collections, get your order in now for a significant savings. Grab Bags are available again in 3 sizes. If you're running low on embellishments from the last Prima release, there are still Winter Grab Bags available in 3 different sizes. If you like to make mini albums and off-the-page projects, be sure to check out the selection of Live With Prima Kits!

Cubs game featuring Pink Paislee

Hey guys! I'm Ashley, from Markland & Main & this is my first post as part of the team. I'm so excited to be here.

Today I'm sharing a layout featuring Pink Paislee Declaration line.

I love Pink Paislee but I was worried this line was too patriotic for "regular" use. Turns out, I really love it. It doesn't have to be used for only patriotic photos - though I have some plans for those too! Check it out in the store.

Do You UStream?

Hi everyone, Nancy here today to share with you a bit about kits and Prima's, "Live With Prima" show.  About once a week Prima hosts on online free scrapinar where you can learn from some of their fabulous educators and designers.  Each class has a "kit" that is used and of course, Your Memories Here, is the best place to find that kit.  Of course, the kit is not needed to learn and get great ideas!  If you don't like the colors or you just want to try something different you can use the ideas with other materials goodies from the store.
This mini album is from a Live with Prima class that Jamie Dougherty did last winter.
These are some older Prima papers that may not be easy to find now, mixed with some lovely Prima flowers, vines, butterflies, buttons, chipboard and more.No problem, grab one of the new CHA grab bags and use the techniques shown in the class to make this album your own.

Mix and match your papers and embellishments and you can create multiple projects for the holidays.  I know a few friends and family members who would love to open a gorgeous mini album this winter.

Most of the shows are recorded, so if you miss a class, but love the project you can always go back and watch....or, if you are like me, you can watch over and over so you can be sure to get the technique.  And, if you do watch the show live, you may see some of your favorite YMH designers chatting.

So, what are you waiting for?  Grab a box or bag from summer CHA, watch a "Live with Prima" video and get creating.

Hugs.

Nancy

let your DREAMS take FLIGHT

Good afternoon everyone! Emily here with a project I created to share with you for my first post back here as a Your Memories Here designer. I am extremely honored to be back again and working with a fantastic group of gals and for an AWESOME store!!

For this weeks project I decided to start on a project I am doing for my daughter's room. I've decided to redecorate. In the process of looking for things to put in her room, I found some vintage, shabby frames. Immediately I knew what I would do. I made a frame with a decorative canvas and quote in it!:)

This project is super easy, and can be done cheap and with a few products from the Your Memories Here store:

I used the following from the store for this particular frame:
I also used:
Black Ink pad
Modeling Paste
Gesso
Scissors
Sketch pen
Box cutter or Craft knife
Canvas board
Decorative Frame

Here is what the frame and canvas looks like when finished...

To create this I did the following:

I first cut my canvas board into an oval to fit into the frame using my box cutter in addition to my scissors. After the canvas was cut out, I covered the entire canvas in Gesso to prime it. After it dried I covered it using my Helmar Decoupage with my Prima paper.  Using a Glimmer screen, I used my modeling paste to create some dimension like using a stencil. I then sprayed my Glimmer and Chalkboard mists over the stencil while it was still on the side of my canvas. This left the outline of the butterfly along with adding some color.

I removed my screen and used my heat gun to help the drying process along. I used some gesso along the outside of the butterfly. I also added some more Glimmer and Chalkboard mists and finally used my Distress ink to go over the paste on the butterfly. I used my fingers for blending. Some older Prima stamps were used to stamp some additional texture around the canvas. I added Websters Pages Jewels to the antenna of the butterfly. (If we do not currently carry an item in stock, always remember you can contact the store and it can be ordered for you!!)

The final step was printing out my quote, cutting it out, coloring it with some Glimmer Mist and adhering it with some more Decoupage. I used my sketch pen for outlining and doodling.

It is a super simple project that you can create for really cheap with a few things from the store plus stuff you may already have at home!

Thank you for stopping by today and joining me for my project today!

Memories art journal page

Hello! hello! hello! My name is Sue and I'm a new designer on the YMH Design Team! I'm so happy to be nominated to this position and I look forward to many more interactions with everyone in the future!
I wanted to share with you an art journal page that I created as a tribute to my late dad using some products from the Prima Romance Novel Collection as well as some items from the Prima Meadowlark Collection which are available at Your Memories Here. The Romance Collection is a Pre-order item you can find HERE as part of the new CHA Summer Release. While  the Meadowlark Collection can be found HERE  that is still available from the Winter CHA release. I love the look of Prima with it's warm vintage style and playful, bright colored edge. I felt it was the perfect choice for a masculine themed layout that could also accommodate a feminine flair as well.

.In addition to the beautiful Prima products, there are other art supplies that are invaluable to me in creating art journal pages. One is the Ranger distress pads. With the other being Claudine Helmuth's Matte Multi-Medium and Gesso. These help me to achieve fantastic textures and layers.

Here, I demonstrate some different techniques. First, applying some Gesso to prep the page then using some "found objects" at home, namely, a piece of left over plastic mesh stamped with Ranger distress ink, a small argyle pattern emerges. Using some Prima Clear Stamps. I add some details keeping in mind some of the things my dad most enjoyed. The added "bling" is a Prima adhesive called Say it with Pearls. An embellishment included in the Meadowlark Collection as well as the canvas textured alterable cutouts.  As a side, If you were not aware, don't throw away the Prima packaging! it can be used also! as I used a chipboard insert to create another layer under the little girl.

I hope this creation has inspired you and I implore you to visit Kristina's beautiful store and pick up some for yourself today! Kristina's fast shipping and courteous service are what set her apart from other craft stores.

Time For Tea Card - Prima Almanac Collection

TGIF YMH fans!  Dana here today sharing a card.  The Florida panhandle has had a lot of rain this week due to Hurricane Isaac and I've been curling up with some good books and plenty of hot tea, trying to keep warm and dry.  All my tea drinking has inspired me to create a card with the Prima Almanac collection.  I love this tea cup chipboard piece!  I made a little tea bag tag with some twine and a letter ticket to embellish the tea cup.  The rhinestone clock adds a fun bit of bling.  They say the best sweeteners of tea are love and scandal, so I think I'll use this card to invite a girlfriend over to catch up on the latest gossip over a cup of tea!

I feel so lucky to have this "super team" representing Your Memories Here.
They will start posting in September, but please stop by their blogs for a peek at what's to come and show them some bloggy love.

A Declaration

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share a project I made with  the Declaration collection from Pink Paislee.  This collection is just gorgeous, full of fun patterns and colors that are good for so much more than just 4th of July.  I love the elements for boy pages.  Sometimes it is hard to find papers and embellishments for the older boys in our lives.
I used a sketch from Page Drafts which I have just fallen in love with lately.
Bits of distress stain with a mask, bakers twine, and many layers of foam dots under my stickers helped to add dimension.

OK,  Well....Back to work.

Hugs.

Nancy

Notes - Prima Romance Novel

Hi YMH fans!  Dana here today sharing a dressed-up envelope I created using the new Prima Romance Novel collection.  The line is my favorite of the new Prima releases.  The collection is full of wonderful vintage images, romantic floral designs, postal elements and some really cool text.  Several of the patterned papers have designs that are ready to cut out and fold, like this envelope.

I love the pop of bright pink from this Cabaletta bloom!  The printed leaves, Vintage Trinkets and Wood Buttons are a great way to add both texture and color to projects.  I love that these embellishments are small enough to use on the flap of an envelope.

I cut two small envelope closures from the patterned paper and attached them to this envelope with an eyelet.  The envelope opens by untying a piece of twine that is wrapped around the closures.  The small cards inside the envelope were cut from the small piece of patterned paper and are perfect for writing a message to someone special.  This envelope would be great to give as is or along with a gift.  It's small enough to use as an embellishment on a card or on a layout for some hidden journaling.

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share a simple card I made for my grandmother's birthday.  I don't make many cards, but for her....always.

Inspired by all the star burst patterns I have seen lately I used bits of my Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee papers to create the look.  I added a bit of stitching to help mark the rays....
And then one single, gorgeous Prima flower and leaf.  A little stamped tag holds my sentiment.

A simple card for an oh so special lady.

Thanks for stopping by today! Prima Pre-Orders are available in the Your Memories Here Store! If you have your eye on 1, or 7, of the new Prima collections, get your order in now for a significant savings. Grab Bags are available again in 3 sizes. If you're running low on embellishments from the last Prima release, there are still Winter Grab Bags available in 3 different sizes in the YMH Store.
