Merry Christmas

A little Christmas card today! I finally got to try some Glimmer Mist!! So much fun, but be sure to cover up your work space because wow, does it spray everywhere! I started by spraying my Peacock color Glimmer Mist onto heavy white cardstock, I wanted to give it the feel of snow. After I let it dry I had to flatten the paper out a bit and then I stamped directly on top of the misted paper and built my little scene using the Snag 'em stamp set Stocking and the bird from the Prima Wings stamp set. I also used some pretty shimmery SEI paper and Prima trim. I looked in my stash the other day and discovered I have quite a few Christmas cards already done! What about you? Where Dreams May Go

Another speacial cause for my Your Memories Here post. I've been working chipping away at the daily challenges for SCS's Hope You Can Cling To month long cancer support fest and today I"ve got another card for those challenges. I used some Prima Paper from the Just Us collection that I distressed as well as some Prima bling and flower. I did lightly spray the flower with Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist (GM) to match everything a little better. The frame is from Tattered Angles framed fonts Tattered Traveler set and sprayed it with Tiger Lily, Dragonfly, and Iridescent Gold GM. The sentiment is from Verve's Blue Skies.

Halloween Prima Can

Hello! I've had a busy week with Halloween preparations, work, and kids home sick from school. So, this project was quick and easy and turned out so cute! I used the Prima French Swirl Felt from the Sweet Girl LWP kit and wrapped it around a Prima flower can. I used Prima flowers misted with Glimmer Mist and a felt pumpkin and a little bit of ribbon. You could really use up some left overs with a project like this. If you didn't want to stick the felt ribbon on permanently you could leave the back on and use removable glue dots to hold it in place until after the Holiday. This would be sooo pretty with red and white mints with the white felt ribbon for Christmas. I love a project with sooo many possibilities. :) I have to admit the level of candy corn has changed a bit since I took these photos! I hope you all have a safe and FUN Halloween!

Ten Minute Christmas Gift Tags

Hello! A fun but super quick project for you today, 10 minute Christmas gift tags! To make these little babies is not only SUPER cheap, but easy! I first started by cutting out 8 tags with my Cricut from white cardstock. Then I used the cute Stocking Set Snag'em stamp set that is only $1.00 from Your Memories Here! I just stamped each image in colored ink, added a "to/from" stamp to the back and then added some Stickles to give each tag a bit of sparkle. These are a great project to get a head start on for your own gift giving or they would make a nice little just because gift for someone else to use for the upcoming holidays. Have a great day!

Recycled Packaging 12x12 LO

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are having a beautiful fall day like we are here in Oklahoma! Today I wanted to share with you a layout that is mostly made out of recycled (or upcycled) items & scraps. The photo was taken at the end of a weekend trip hubby & I went on recently & the rainbow was the perfect end to a perfect trip. I love using up my stash & I hate throwing anything away! I am big on "green" wherever & whenever you can, even in my crafting, & wanted to show you how easy it can be!

The base for this LO is entirely Prima packaging! It is the backing that came with a 12x12 transparency & I simply flipped it over, trimmed it to size, inked the edges & spritzed it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist & Glimmer Glam. This was my first time using the Glimmer Glam & I gotta say that I love it! It leaves a brighter, bolder color & shimmer that I really like. I also used some more Prima packaging for the background the Prima flowers & yellow Prima lace are on, and also edged it with some ink. The other recycled/upcycled item is the vintage dictionary page...which I thought was just perfect for this page with its definitions of thunder! Everything else is scraps from other projects, including that lovely Prima lace at the top of the page...really take a look at all your packaging & leftover scraps before tossing them out. Prima especially makes lovely reusable packaging & not only could you make a gorgeous project, you can feel good about it afterward!!

A Vintage Card for a great cause

My card today is for a great cause. A card drive for our elders in nursing homes and such. I went with a Christmas theme, and I am hoping I achieved the vintage, warm feeling. The paper is from Studio 8's 'tis the season collection, the flower and leaves are prima (I believe), and I sprayed the oval with some Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist (all of this I got from Your Memories Here). The heart and sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps (I so need to get the heart nesties and the star too). I stamped the heart in Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany Distress Ink while the sentiment was stamped in Peeled Paint. The ribbon is just a warm brown felt that I have laying around. Gather Together Mini Album

 Hello crafty friends! This is a mini album I made out of one sheet of Prima paper and 2 pieces of cardboard I cut out of a cereal box. First I used my corner rounder and then I used gesso on the cardboard then painted it brown. I wadded up and then tore up a brown paper lunch sack and used matte mod podge to adhere the torn up strips to the cardboard. There is no right or wrong way to do that, just make sure to overlap some of the pieces. I set that aside and folded and cut up my piece of paper to make the album inside. I used my Martha Stewart scoreboard but anything would work. I scored at 3,6 and 9 inches, turned the paper once and did it again. Then, I used a straight edge and cut the paper to look like a M. Making sure to leave the squares attached. Then I folded it all together and attached some of the pieces together to make "pages". I left the two pieces on the ends free to attach to the cardboard.

 I used this beautiful piece of Prima trim to tie it together. The paper, trim and flowers are from the Sweet Girl Layout Kit from Live with Prima. You don't have to do exactly what they do! My last post was the other sheet of paper from that kit as well!

 The gorgeous flowers and leaf are Prima and the scallop rectangle behind the sticker was punched from the packaging from the flowers. It was perfect!  I used my distress ink to ink it all up for a grungy look.

 My plan was to use this for Thanksgiving pics and journaling but you could make it for ANY occasion and would make a super cute brag book. :)

Magnetic Memo Boards

I'm so excited to share these. Not because I think they are something spectacular but because they were so simple and inexpensive that I hope everyone will give them a try! I found some steel baking sheets (it has to be steel so that the magnets will work- no aluminum) at my local dollar store. The round ones are 12" pizza pans and I also bought a couple of 9"x13" cookie sheets.

I used Mod Podge to adhere down some patterned paper that I cut to fit in the pans, then I embellished each one. I cut out the word "enjoy" on my Cricut in cream card stock, then sprayed it with sugared maple and a little pomegranate Glimmer Mist. I added a couple of Prima leaves too.

On this one I used Prima lace trim that I dyed with sugared maple Glimmer Mist and hot glued it around the edge.

The note holders are some regular clothes pins that I glued magnets to the back of, then I used some hot glue to adhere velvet ribbon on them. I made little grape clusters with some grape dew drops and a Prima rose leaf.

This one has a bit of a glare from the camera flash because the word is covered in glossy accents.


I painted these clothes pins black before I glued the ribbon on and added white Prima roses.

More Prima flowers and pearls accent this one.

I used Mod Podge to decopage the same patterned paper onto the clothespin magnets then added some Prima flowers and the Prima pearls.

I used Prima pearls and roses swirls to accent the swirls of the patterned paper.

You can cut the swirls apart very easily to get more out of a package!

This last one isn't finished yet, but I wanted to show you one of the rectangle sheets I've been working on. Since it is 13" long I had to use 2 sheets of paper. I used two different coordinating patterns and then covered the seam with some ribbon. I also used that ribbon on the clothes pins. But I've still got some more embellishing to do :)

Chalk Popping Technique

Today I have a technique to share with you called chalk popping. It's a super simple technique that you can achieve many different looks with. For my card I went with a kind of vintage, grungy look:) Let's get started!

Fist you need to gather your supplies. You'll need a stamp set, I used the gorgeous Wings by Prima set, Pebbles chalk and a Versamark ink pad and any embellishments you want for your card, I chose some pretty Prima trim and rhinestones.

I first stamped my frame and chalked it in blue, then my bird and chalked the branch frist and then the rest of the bird and then on a seperate piece of cardstock, stamped my flowers, chalked and trimmed them out. To show you the chalking technqiue I am only demonstrating the bird.

First, you ink up your stamp (make sure it is really clean) with the Versamark ink. Then stamp it onto your cardstock.

Then pick your first color of chalk and using the applicator apply it to the branch. As you rub the chalk over your stamped image your image will begin to "pop" out from the paper. The Versamark ink adheres the chalk to it.

Continue on with your bird in your desired color. You can even add more than one color!

When you are satisfied with the look, lightly swipe over your image with a clean cloth to remove any loose chalk and you now have a lovely chalked image. If you try this technique let us know by leaving a link, we'd love to come see!

Happy Sunday to all again! This week I wanted to share a card with you featuring Prima & Tattered Angels products from the Your Memories Here Store that is as easy as it is lovely! My love for Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist knows no bounds & it was perfect for this particular project I wanted to conquer. My fab mom-in-law just returned from a trip to Paris, Venice, & Rome...I know, I'm uber jealous too! LOL! I am working on designing her a mini album to gather some of her memorabilia & photographs in which I plan on giving her for Christmas. I wanted a sweet card to accompany the album & this turned out just like I wanted! I'm also tempted to make a set of these cards for another present as well since I really like how it turned out!!

I used a Tattered Angels mask (from the Spooky Findings Kit) & some soft white chalk ink on black cardstock for the base. I also spritzed it with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl for a nice shimmery effect. Then, I took some Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist in Vintage Pink & Key Lime & spritzed it on some white paper for my stamped image. After distressing the edges, I used some Glimmer Mist in Graphite to ink the edges. I added some beautiful Prima mini roses that are just gorgeous & some shimmery ribbon leftover from some flowers my hubby gave me a few months ago. The "remember" sentiment is actually packaging from the Prima mini roses! I love Prima packaging because it is so perfect for re-using on your projects. The roses come on this beautiful acrylic that has inspirational words printed on it & could be used for sentiments or even as a transparency. I love it, plus it's one less thing to toss in a landfill!! I only wish you could see how beautiful the glimmer mist looks up close & personal...it is just gorgeous!

Gold and Brown plus a little orange

Here's my card for todays YMH post. Once I get some more time I plan on doing some altered projects, but it looks like it's going to have to wait until at least November. I used some of my new Tattered Angles products: HayRide Glimmer Glam, Peach Delight and Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist, and the bird is from the Nature Glimmer Chips collection. The paper is from SEI's Windsor collection. I love how the paper have the metallic gold look to it. A simple post for a simple card :)

Surprise Box

Happy Friday!
Today, I wanted to share a little something I made for a friend's daughter. Hannah started Kindergarten this year & has been having a hard time adjusting to life as a kindergartener. I thought about making this little surprise/treat box for when she has good days at school. Her teacher created a behavior chart to let her mom know about Hannah's day at school and when she has a day with 3 stars, she can pull out a treat from this box.
Here it is:

So, if Hannah has a good day, she gets to put her hand into the hole at the top & pull out a treat.
 Here's how I made it:
1) Start with an empty tissue box. The opening is a perfect size for little hands to reach in & grab a treat!

 2) Cover the box with cardstock. I used my largest oval Nesties to create the opening:

 Adhere the top piece on. Notice that it wasn't exactly a perfect match :(

So I punched out a few flowers to hide that slight imperfection & embellish the top of the box :)  Ahhhhh, and all is well in the world once again!

 Now to add some fun pattern paper to all 4 sides. This is Oopsie Daisy from Imaginisce.

Then I just added an accordian fold strip to the left over piece I cut out with my oval Nesties & popped up "You Did It!" I cut that out on my Cricut at 5" with the Wild Card Cart. I dotted the "i's" with some Prima crystals.

 and that's it! A fun & easy little treat box to reward a good day at school.
