Always a lady..with Prima!

Good Morning! I am sharing with you today a tag I made using Prima products from Your Memories Here as well as Ranger. I took an ATC sized piece of glossy CS and applied a Prima stencil in a wood design with some Ranger walnut distress stain. I then colored up some Prima canvas pieces with some more distress stains, adhering them down with Helmar's glue. I went over the stenciled background with some picket fence distress stain to mute the colors. Then, I stamped over it with a Prima stamp. I added a Prima rose, a stick pin and some lace to finish. Such a fun tag to make! I appreciate you joining me today and make sure to visit Kristina at Your Memories Here to pick up all YOUR Prima goodness!!!

Canvas - You Melted What?

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you a quick project I made using my Prima flower grab bag, Glimmer Mist, and some Stickles.  Each grab bag is filled with a mixture of gorgeous blooms just waiting to embellish all of your projects.

For this project I selected a small canvas tote I picked up in the dollar bin.
The large flower I melted a bit with my heat tool to give it a bit more dimension.  Be careful, you don't want to burn your flower, just melt the fibers a bit.  (although, a little scorching around the edges gives it a lovely shabby chic feel.
Finally, I added a wood icon from Prima.  I really just can't seem to get enough of these little treasures lately.

Hugs.

Nancy

Altered Shelf using Prima

Good evening friends! My sincere apologies for the lateness of this posting today.. I honestly forgot what day it was! But today is Tuesday and my day to share with you my creation using some goodies from Your Memories Here!

Today I have a little shelf that I decorated using some Prima flowers from the $25 Prima Flower Bags still available. These flowers in the grab bags are new releases, and there are five packages total per grab bag! The flowers vary, but I promise you they are all awesome!!

I still had some of the paper I made using my Gelli Plate and the Prima Lattice Stencil leftover, so I stamped a sentiment on it and adhered it to the shelf using some Studio Multi-Medium.

Using some stamps and embossing powder, for some final details, I stamped swirls and a butterfly in various places on the shelf.

I decorated this for my daughter who loves butterflies, pink and flowers. Basically anything girly. :) She is already trying to decide where she would like it in her room. I plan on adding a few more details to this before hanging it in her room though. She has some small figurines to place on the shelf all ready to go.

I hope you've enjoyed my shelf this evening. Have a wonderful night and enjoy the rest of your week!

BIG Baby Girl Card & a Lil' Challenge with Heidi

IMG_1550

I work in an elementary school and we are always celebrating someone whether it's for a wedding or a new baby. On the other hand sometimes, unfortunately, it might be acknowledging a death in a colleague's family. Recently, we were collecting for a teacher who is about to bring a baby girl into his family. I kept seeing these "store bought" cards being passed around and finally put a stop to it. I offered to create this card to be shared. Now, I normally create smaller cards-your "standard" card size for those of us that make them. This time I had to create something bigger so it could be signed inside for the many staff members at the school. The size of this card is 8.5X5.5 which led itself to a new design challenge for me. How do I make the design make sense over such a large area to work with?

This challenge was made a ton easier when I grabbed new goodies from Your Memories Here. I recently picked up the Cottage Farms collection from Pink Paislee. Those gorgeous papers mixed with some Prima flowers from the grab bag offered at Your Memories Here made the perfect combination. I added a few items from my stash, of course. That goes back to my whole philosophy of mixing old with new goodies for a ton of pop! The staff loved the card and I can't wait for the recipient to receive it!

A thoughtful telegram-Prima

Hi friends! I'm back to share with you another project I created using Prima supplies from Your Memories Here.

I decided for this project, to try my hand and making a fun postcard. I pulled out a white flower and colored it up with some Adirondack color wash, added some stickles and then dried it with a Ranger Heat it tool. Then, I applied some Prima vermont leaves, paper leaves from the Romance Novel collection as well as a Prima tile, stick pin, wooden button purchased from a goodie bag, a Prima typewriter and script rubber stamp and  Prima cotton writer's tape colored up with Ranger distress stains. In addition, I distressed the sides of the post card as well with another Ranger distress stain.

Thank you so much for looking and make sure to stop by the store and pick up some goodies for your self today!

Delightful Fun

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you a canvas that I made inspired by some of the recent Live with Prima shows.

Julie Nutting's doll stamps are hot...and I couldn't resist creating with my interpretation of one.
Lots of gorgeous Annalee papers here.  I love the gorgeous patterns and colors in this older collection, I never seem to tire of it.
Prima flower grab bags are a must have in my collection...and at such a great price you can grab a couple.  And don't forget the gorgeous wood icons to go with.
Bits of Prima Lace, Distress Inks, and Say it in Crystals finish out my project.

I haven't decided yet where this lovely will live, but I am sure I will find her a great home.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs.

Simple Card using New Prima Stencil

Hi YMH fans! Today I have a very simple card to share with you that  I made using one of my new favorite stencils... the Prima 6x6 Lattice Stencil.

Using some shimmery paints, my Gelli Plate and this stencil, I made the background for the card. Honestly though, this look can be created using the stencil without the Gelli Plate though. All you need to do is place your paint directly on the stencil and use the stencil like a stamp. That's how you get this look from the stencil:

I know I will be using this stencil for a lot of stuff! It's so pretty and can go with so many things! I can't wait to try it with some modeling paste! YMH carries several other Prima masks and stencils... check them out HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a creative day!

Mixing Old and New

IMG_1434

Lately, I have been loving using inspiration from Pinterest and "scrap lifting" to make projects my own. This is the layout that inspired my creation. I have been really enjoying using goodies from my stash with lots of new things from Your Memories Here. I grabbed some papers that made sense together. Reminds me of Stacy and Clinton on What Not To Wear--papers (clothes) don't have to "match", they just have to make sense together. I have a beautiful basket of flowers on my art table at all time. I love digging through the basket to grab flowers that also, well, make sense together. So, dig into your stash and combine some of your oldies-but-goodies with delicious new products! IMG_1435 IMG_1436 IMG_1437

Mixed Media Project with DeNetra (and Tips)

Hey everyone. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers in our lives. I hope you
all enjoy your day today.
I am sharing a Mixed Media Project with you. Using Prima's Engraver line.
I also share some tips with pictures below.
The Engraver line is a must have because you can
add any color to the neutral color palette of the line.

I also used Prima's wood pieces, metal, canvas resist and chipboard.
Tim Holtz crackle paint is a must have too.

I hope you like my plaque.
Thank you for stopping by.

I mixed food coloring in my white paint to make this color

Here are some papers that I will layer together

I just added a lite swiping of color with my paint

I am using this lace and crackle paint at a mask

easy way to add texture and pattern without masks

Now I am painting this lace with white crackle paint

added some embellishments

here I am adding texture paste  to this mixed matched butterfly

you can pull the top layer off of your chipboard pieces...I am going to paint it

stretch your metal embellishments by cutting them in half.

To new beginnings!

Hi YMH fans! Nice to have the weekend here! and I'm happy to share with you today a card I made using all Prima products and a new technique I learned from Cari Fennell at the Sweet Retreat.
I really like the randomness of Mixed Media. It broadens my viewpoints and inspires me to try new things. So, I decided to pull out some Prima goodness I purchased from Your Memories Here and go to town!
The new technique I decided to use was taking some Studio multi-medium and applying it through my new Prima gears mask onto some Prima Craftsman DP. I zapped it with my Ranger heat it craft gun then, went over it with some Ranger distress stain in "peacock feathers". Furthermore, I distressed the sides of the DP as well as the card itself to give it a more uniform feel. I then used some Craftsman wood pieces and some self adhesive chipboard applied to some new Prima lace ribbon to finish.
It was really fun to make! So, why not try your hand at it? You can pick up all your supplies at Your Memories Here and create your own one of kind card or project! Thank you for joining me today and enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
