Fly- Prima Lyric

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you another project I made with the gorgeous Lyric collection from Prima.  I am loving the soft, beautiful colors in this collection and couldn't resist pairing them with this photo from one of my daughter's ballet recitals.
I added in some of the gorgeous flowers from the winter CHA grab bag...
a few of the beautiful resin and wood pieces....
and finally finished up with a few bits of inked writer's tape.

Thanks for dropping by.

This is My Happy Place

Happy Tuesday friends! I hope you all have had a wonderful day! I enjoyed the day by getting some creating done and cleaning up my studio. Today I wanted to share an ATC I created using a few things from Your Memories Here .

I was able to quickly make this using just a few things from the store.... and if I can make something quickly and have it still look this cute, I am happy! That's why I love the items that are carried in the store. They already look good, so it doesn't take much to make a nice looking project!

I used flowers from the Prima Summer CHA 2012 Grab Bag. (There are still some left!) I added some leaves from the Prima Wood Icons in a Box - Flowers and Leaves collection. To color the leaves I just added a little paint. You can also use mists, inks and more to color them. I embossed my sentiment with some black embossing powder. I've really gotten into embossing lately. :)

After I added the sentiment, wooden icons and flowers I sprayed a homemade mist I made using water and my silver Faber-Castell Gelato. It gives just a light silver shimmer all over the project. You can see it in the bottom photographs... it's a bit hard to see, but in real life as you move it in the light, you can see it really well! It's just one more way you can use your Gelatos!

I hope you've found some inspiration in my ATC today! Oh, and so you know, this is now hanging in my studio... because that IS my happy place!

I will see you next week with another project using some new items I just got in today from Your Memories Here! I can't wait to play with them! Have a great night!!

Flower Show Layout with Heidi NYC

It is finally Spring-or at least it feels like it on most days here in New York City. This city is always full of surprises! I took these pictures at the Macy's Flower Show in Herald Square. Marty & I were spending the day roaming around the city and stumbled upon this visual masterpiece! It was a free display inside a huge pop-up building. The colors and smells were beyond amazing!

I started scrapbooking 15 years ago and still scrap kind of "old school" with my double-page layouts with tons of pictures. I still love using page maps and then adding my artsy flair with embellishments and tons of flowers. The flowers and papers are this layout are from the Engraver and Zephyr Collections from Prima. I have been using them for WEEKS and now have just scraps left of the papers. I picked these up from Your Memories Here online store. I recently placed another order at YMH and can't wait for it to show up. It's due to arrive on Tuesday and it is L-O-A-D-E-D with Prima! TONS!!! Hope you are having a great Memorial Day Weekend and are as excited as I am for the Summer. Just 23 more school days left here in New York City and then THIS teacher will be on a much needed VACA! Until then...GO MAKE SOME ART! IMG_1283 IMG_1282 IMG_1284

Persevere-A mixture of media

Hi friends! Phew......just under the deadline finishing this project. I've been pouring over mixed media art  videos on You Tube to feed my inner mojo. I felt inspired to pull out a canvas I've had sitting around a while and play. I just love using my crafting "toys" that I picked up from Your Memories Here.
For this particular project, I pulled out some Prima DP from the Wishful Thinking paper line including the sentiments and adhered them down with Ranger Studio multi medium, a wood clock piece from the Romance Novel Collection, some leaves, a Prima Circle stencil used with some Golden Fiber Paste, Adirondack color wash sprays over a Gesso prepped background, a Prima Mixed Media doll  embossed then colored with Faber-Castell Gelatos. To finish, I applied some Prima sequins. I love how it turned out and plan on using it for encouragement. Why not make one for yourself? It's easy with the help of Your Memories Here!  So make sure to stop by and visit Kristina. She can hook you up with some great tools to bring out the artist in you. :) Thank you for joining me today!!

Vintage Girly Picture Frame

IMG_1260

My friends joke that I can't leave anything alone. I have to alter everything that I get my hands on. This little picture frame was no exception in my "altered" hands. I grabbed this simple black from my the shelf in my art studio with the goal of quickly changing the picture. Well, over an hour or so later...I changed the frame, too. I am still head over heels for the papers and flowers from the Engraver & Zephyr collections from Prima. I picked these up from Your Memories Here and can't stop using them. I remember picking these out and my husband commenting on how great they would look together. Boy, was he right!!! IMG_1261 IMG_1262

Prima Wood Icons in a Box.... saying Hello

Good evening everyone! I am sorry for the tardiness of this post today... it was a busy day for me! We are working on getting the kids signed up for summer camp and somewhere along the line the copy of my little girl's birth certificate went missing...so I had to go and get another one. Since the office moved, I got a little mixed up, so it took longer than I had intended. But I am here now, with this clean and simple Kraft card that I made using a couple of products from the Your Memories Here store.

I used some flowers from the Prima Wood Icons in a Box - Flowers and Leaves in the corner of the card. I used some shimmery paint along with some Distress Stain in Vintage Photo to give the wood icons some color.

I created a little marbled banner out of some extra paper using some shimmery paint and more Vintage Photo Distress Stain. The smaller flag is a chipboard banner with some Distress Stain on the edges.

I still have some of the Prima Wood Icons left for other projects. For $6, you get a lot of the icons, plus an adorable wooden box that you can alter or use for storage! I plan on altering my little box. It will look really cute all painted and with some patterned paper covering it. If you haven't purchased yourself some of these, go to the store and get some before they are all gone!

Here are some other shots of my card...

I hope you enjoyed my simple little card! Have a great night!

Happy Saturday everyone! I'm sharing with you today another creation using crafting products from Your Memories Here.  This time, I chose to use a Ruby Violet cuff in hot pink/orange. I thought this would be so fun to wear to the Sweet Retreat. What's Sweet Retreat I  hear you say?? Well!! There are still spaces available if you would like to join us! You can find more information about it HERE.  I can't WAIT!! Such beautiful Prima gorgeousness as usual!! :) Anyhoo, getting back to my project LOL, I used a flower from a Prima flower grab bag and a Prima Ivory Vermont leaf. In addition, I applied some Prima bling and a canvas key colored with Tim Holtz distress stain. I love how it turned out and it was so easy to make! Wouldn't these make cute Mother's Day corsages? or perhaps for a birthday princess? There's endless ideas and Your Memories Here has just what you need to put together something yourself! Thinking of You

Good morning friends! I hope you are all doing well today. All is going well in my world... we have been pretty busy this month, so I've not had as much time for crafting lately. I did find time to make this card last week to share with you today using some flowers from the Summer CHA 2012 Grab Bag from the Your Memories Here Store.

Using some shimmery paint and Broken China Distress Stain, I created a marbled look for the background of the card. I adhered it using some Helmar Decoupage and the sentiment added using Zapdots.  The YMH Store carries a lot of the Helmar adhesives, which are some of my favorites.

I love the shimmer of the marbled background. It's very pretty. After the background was adhered, I added the ribbon, flowers, sentiment and then the jewels.

Below are some close ups of the card....

This will definitely be a card I will send to our family in Ohio. Although emails and ecards are really popular these days, there is still nothing like sending a real home made card to those you care about. To me it will never grow old. So send a card out to someone once in a while. Make someone smile. :)

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Give Me An H!

IMG_1146
IMG_1147
A few weeks ago Marty (my love) picked up this little letter H when we were out and about.  He thought it would be fun for me to alter the H and he was right! I covered it with some text paper that I had from a little bag that someone gave to me. I ripped it up and adhered it with Matte Medium. I had so much fun adding Prima flowers and Trinkets that I picked up at the fabulous Your Memories Here Store. IMG_1148 IMG_1149

Cute Stuff!

Hi everybody! I hope your enjoying NSD or National Scrapbooking Day!! There are LOTS going on everywhere!! Prima has some exciting things to share with you today and this is a perfect opportunity to visit Your Memories Here to stock up on all your favorite Prima supplies to re-create some terrific projects!

This time around, I felt like pulling out some much-neglected rubber stamps from Prima's Ruby Violet line. I am using the cling mounted stamps here to create a baby card. I started with some Faber-Castell gelatos  to create the background on some watercolor paper using baby wipes to blend. I added some interest to it by using a Copic multiliner to add dash lines. Then, I took some of the ruby violet stamps and created the monkey and whale images using some Prima chalk edgers.  Furthermore, I created some smaller images from the same stamp line to create the button and sun images. I then applied some Prima washi tape to complete the card. The bkgds on the monkey and whale are further softened by using some additional Prima chalk edgers in pastel colors. Lastly, the Ruby Violet cling sentiment completes it. Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a great time on this NSD!!!

You're Lovely

Hi everyone!  It's Nancy here today to share with you a project I made using some gorgeous Prima paper from the Annalee collection.  With just one sheet of paper and my Cricut I was able to create this beautiful box for one of my daughter's friends birthday.
I began the embellishment with some custom dyed lace (dyed of course with my trusty mists). I then decorated the box with some beautiful flowers and leaves from the store
as well as one of the cute little wooden bird icons.

We filled the inside with treats and I know she just loved it.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Hugs.
