Multi-Crafting

Like so many of you I am a multi-crafter. What I mean is paper crafting isn't my only hobby. I've been busy sewing a couple of tiny little aprons for my daughters (4 and 2 years old). What happened was I got a great deal (I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about) on a pair of "flirty" aprons and my little girls just loved them. However, these were made to fit women of all sizes but definitely not little girls who still wear toddler sizes! So off to Hobby Lobby for some fabric. I let them each pick the pattern for their apron. Marlee chose the Princesses and Lilee picked Strawberry Shortcake.
Now on to the multi-craft part. I had to scrap a page of them wearing their new aprons.
I used this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch because it's a great sketch and Your Memories Here is this week's sponsor! I rotated the sketch but kept the proportions pretty much the same. The background paper is DCWV Nana's Kitchen (appropriate for an apron layout?) I cut out the apron on my Cricut using the From My Kitchen cartridge. The purple card stock and the apron are both embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder (though it's hard to see that detail in the photo). Thanks for stopping by to take a look today. I hope you'll head over to Sketchy Thursdays to play along and share your own take on this sketch.

Sketchy Thursdays

Happy Thursday! Just wanted to share with you all that Your Memories Here is sponsoring this week's Sketchy Thursdays challenge. So pop on over, take a peek at the sketch and play along for a chance to win some scrappy goodies. Their sketches are a great starting point to get those creative juices flowing.

Inspired by CHA

Hello there,
It's Thursday, so it's Karli, sharing a project that I saw at the Provo-Craft Booth at CHA. I totally fell in love with one of the projects on this table:
Can you guess which one??? It was the cup :) Did you find it?
Here's my version:
They used one of these cups that you can alter the inner lining --->however you'd like. I love creating custom & personalized gifts, so this was perfect for me! I used gold foil paper and embossed it with one of my fav Cuttlebug folders- Fleur de Lis. Then I simply added some bling for my name & added a bling crown to embellish that's fit for a queen ;) . So super easy, but it looks awesome!

Here's the liner alone:
 and the cup:
You can use patterned paper, cardstock, whatever you'd like! The best part is you're never stuck with a boring cup like everyone else's & you made it yourself, quick & easy :) I have a couple more for next time that I can't wait to share!

Thanks for peeking! Hope you have a golden day!

Black and red Thank you card

Here is a Thank you card that I made. I love the red, black and white color combonation. I used my Cricut to cut out the black squares and the red letters. As I hope you can see in the top picture I used foam tape to pop some of the letters up. On those letters I also added a red eyelet with some black and white ribbon as well. At the top of the card I punched 2 holes and added the same ribbon. For added depth I used black chalk ink around the edges of the red card. I used my 12 x 12 mat to for my cutting. I love the 12 x 12 mat as you can so much at one time.

Got Dirt?

Is it Tuesday already? Sorry, my hubby took the day off yesterday and cut into my crafting time, I get more done when he's not around ;)
Here's a layout that has been in my "to do" pile for a while now.
In the summer we like to spend out weekends in the woods on our ATVs when we can. I got brave one trip and took my camera along.
I made the cuts on my Cricut using Plantin for the title font and Camp Out solutions for the 4 wheeler. I wrote my journaling on a Chatterbox wood tag and attached it with some glue dots. I felt with all the mud that the page was a little blah, so to give it some "bling" without being "girly" I added 3 sets of Dew Drops by each photo all from the Sunflower mix.
I embossed the title with my Cuttlebug Diamond Plate embossing folder though it's a little hard to see in the photo.

Pretty Flowers

A springy card for you today! I decided to leave the sentiment off this one as it will be easy to personalize when I need too. I used several supplies from Your Memories Here, the Primas, Pebbles ribbon, the Rosey Nook paper, the Mother's Day cart for the mats and a Swiss Dots embossing folder. For my scallop border I punched some 1" circles and adhered them under my mat layer. I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Simple Birthday Card

Simple Birthday Card

Hello everyone and happy Sunday... here is a simple Birthday card I made just using three items. A great card to make if you don't have much time and need a quick birthday card.

I created this sweet and simple card using Birds and Swirls A2 Embossing Folder
a Prima Flower and New from Prima Marketing pearls and crystals accents for the flower center.

Happy Birthday Blocks

Here is the birthday card I made for my hubby (yesterday was his 34th birthday). He's a no frills kind of guy so I kept it clean and simple (but oh how I wanted to add Stickles and flowers) This is a 6"x6" card and the little rounded squares are 1- 3/4" cut on my Cricut with George and basic shapes. I stamped each square with the Imaginisce "Piece of Cake" stamps (there are 3 designs in this set. The middle square is from another set that i threw in to change it up a bit. I inked all the edges with the same color as what I had stamped to help them "pop" of the background. I "borrowed" Karli's idea and added a button to the center of each circular "happy birthday" stamp. I lucked out and just happened to have buttons to match each color , cuz the buttons were an after thought ;)
Hope you have a great week end and don't forget to enter your scrapbook page in the February Share Your Memories Here contest. Today is the last day to link up!

Happy Birthday Coupons

Hey everyone!! Samantha here!

My mom's birthday is on Monday so to celebrate, I made her a little coupon book to go along with her presents. This coupon book was cut out using the Cricut Mother's Day cartridge, which is available in store here.

The Mother's Day cartridge is a GREAT cartridge and it has many great cuts on it that could be used for any occasion, like the little coupon book cuts.

All my pieces were cut out at 2inches with the REAL SIZE DIAL button OFF (not lit up!). That made the cover and the pages all fit together nicely.

The green piece is actually bound to my book and there are perforated lines so that you can rip the coupons out as needed.

Since my mother's birthday isn't until Monday, I can't post the full details on my own blog until Monday (she occasionally takes a peek at my blog and I would hate to ruin the surprise! LOL)

Cake in a Box version 2

Hello everyone!
It's Karli, with a simply sweet little project to share with you today. Remember this card I shared last week?

Well, this little box
was supposed to accompany it, but I was all out of one key ingredient...
a Hostess Cupcake!
It's a cake in a box :) Very easy to put together.

I used the Snag 'Em stamps from the Piece of Cake set on the lid. The insides of each circle are glittered. The sentiments were cut on my Cricut with the Wild Card Cart. I tied Pebbles Ribbon around the lid and the candle.

Here they are together:
It's an inexpensive, but sweet way to give a little birthday treat!
I'll have a video tutorial on my blog later this week if you're interested. Thanks for peeking at my little project. Hope you have a sweet weekend!

Happy Halloween mini

Here are some pages from my Halloween mini that I just finished. I used my Circut Expression to cut out the letters on this front page. I cut all of the paper for my pages at 4 x6 on my Cricut as well. It makes it nice and easy and all my pages come out at just the right size. I used my 12 x 12 mat to cut my paper for my pages and my tags.

We'll Miss You Brenda

Our fabulous DT member, Brenda, has just been informed by her employer ( a large crafting retail store) that she is not allowed to participate in any "outside of work activities" that promote any other competitor stores. So that means she's not able to be on the Your Memories Here DT any longer :(

That leaves me with the decision of how to fill her Tuesday posting spot. At this moment I'm thinking "Monthly Guest Designer". I'll be posting more about this later, when I figure out all the details.

Indoor Snowman

So many of us around the country are getting a ton of snow this year, and where I am is no different. One evening we brought a little bit of the cold stuff in and had fun making this little snowman that the kids later ate :) I used Don Juan and A Child's Year Cricut cartridges and some pretty silver Dew Drops as well as a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I hope you are staying warm and I sure do hope spring comes soon!

Oh No, I'm Late!

Oops! I checked my blogger dash board this morning to see what we've posted for you today and realized it was my turn to post!!
Sorry, no video post for you today. I've been sick all week and was in no shape to be filming. I have a layout for you today and a reminder that you still have 1 week to link up your page for the Share Your Memories Here contest.

I made this page for the YHM Share Your Memories February theme "catch up". Because this is from our vacation to Tennessee last June (yeah, I'm still working on those pages). The story behind this page is while we were on vacation Lilee didn't want to eat anything. We'd order her meal, she'd take a bite or two and then she'd say "I'm done". So by the second or third day, I started taking pictures of the foods Lilee wouldn't eat (what can I say, I'm always planning my scrapbook pages). Sorry the picture quality is poor, I'm fighting my fluorescent lights in my new scrap space. They are great for lighting to work by, but not for taking pictures.
I used my Cricut to cut out the bracket which is off of the Opposites Attract cartridge. The the pretty red and red and while polka dot flowers are Prima. I just love layering my flowers.

Puppy Style Layout

Happy Friday everyone! Samantha here, with ANOTHER puppy layout. I have been working a lot on Emma's first year album so here is another layout I have to share with you.

Also, I just want to remind you that we have a Share Your Memories contest going on. Click here for the details!

I created this layout for Your Memories Here using some great little Prima flowers from the Sweet & Sassy Clueless pack.

The title and fashion girl were both made with the Cricut Expression using the new Forever Young cartridge.

I Love Every Piece of Your Heart Layout

This layout came about because I want to treausre what my 5 year old son tells me each time I leave out the back door. He says " I l ove every piece of your heart." :) It just make me smile and melt. I used my Cricut to cut out the heart and all the pieces for the words, even the ones I stamped on. I used my 12 x 12 mat to cut these out. I wanted to keep this simple and focus on the sweet saying. On the heart I will put a picute of my son and me.

Love LO

If there was just one word to sum up what I feel for my family that would be it: LOVE. This is an older picture that I finally got around to scrapping, hard to believe it was taken Thanksgiving Day 2008!! I used a whole bunch of goodies you can go grab at the Your Memories Here store. The flowers are Prima, Pebbles ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing edge folder, Rosey Nook paper and my favorite, Dew Drops. The butterfly was cut with my Cricut using A Child's Year. I love this butterfly but the cut isn't available as just the butterfly, only as a card, but I got the idea to just make a very small "card" glue the to halves together, and viola! you've got yourself a very pretty butterfly cut:) I hope you are enjoying your Monday, come visit me on my blog too:) Paper Blossoms...see you next week!
