A little Easter joy-with Prima

Hi friends! Hope your having a nice start to the weekend so far. It was so nice to relax yesterday after another long week at work. :) I just love Spring! I've probably said that before LOL but, I really do and the pastel colors are so fun! I really wanted to capture that for an Easter theme so I pulled out my trusty Prima supplies that were purchased from Your Memories Here and got to work! BTW! just FYI....... the store is currently undergoing some renovations BUT!! Kristina is still open for business! She's just making some improvements on an already fantastic little shop!! Now, back to our regularly scheduled program hehe
I used a mixed selection of Prima products to create this card using a Silhouette cutting file cut out of some Prima DP to create the base. The self-adhesive Prima cotton writer's tape  is stamped with a Prima chicken wire bkgd stamp using Prima chalk edgers. Then, I added some embellishments using a Prima canvas flower colored and stamped with the Prima chalk edgers using stamps from the Songbird collection. Furthermore, I added some adorable wood accents from one of the Prima Wood Icons set. In addition, I adhered some Prima lace trim to the bottom of the inserted card for added details, then inked up some cute Prima Easter stamps to finish. I am using a Basic Grey magnetic snap for a closure. I think it turned out okay although I wasn't sure at first. I was teetering on chucking the whole thing and starting over until I remembered I need to actually finish the project BEFORE Saturday LOL I forgot to add, I also stamped the insert card with a Prima flowered bkgd stamp again with a Prima chalk edger. Lastly, is the stamped sentiment which was created using the Prima Press Stamp Set.  It's amazing what you can create when you have all the right products to do it! Thank you so much for joining me today and for your wonderful support of the fabulous YMH DT with a terrific leader to boot!! I bid you all ta-ta for now! and I hope that you have a very Blessed Easter holiday.

Easter Nest Tutorial

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you a quick little Easter project.  A sweet little nest full of sparkly eggs.

I began by dying a bit of seam binding with some Glimmer Mists and cutting 1/4 inch strips of Kraft Core with my deckle edge cutter. I used two different colors of the cardstock for this project.

I attached the ends of the cardstock together to make two long strips (each was about 4 feet long) and gave them a quick crinkle.
And began making a simple, loose braid.
Once I had my braid together I just looped the strip on top of itself to create a nest shape, adding in a bit of lace for extra texture.
I filled my nest with a couple of decoupaged eggs I made using some Prima Londonerry papers from an older Prima Grab bag.
For a finishing touch I added a few Prima flowers and another bit of dyed seam binding.

This was a quick and simple project to make and it has quite a bit of impact on my Easter table.  Maybe one for each place setting?  hmmmmmm

Happy Spring

Hugs.

Think Spring and Believe in the Beautiful

Hello there friends! I hope you are all enjoying your day and it is going as well as mine is. It is beautiful out and the recent snow that we got is starting to melt. We were bombarded with almost ten inches of snow in a 24 hour period! It was crazy! It will go down in the record books for one of the highest accumulations of snow in a 24 hour period in these parts. Because I am now so very ready for Spring, I created this ATC using some great products I found in the Your Memories Here  Store.

One of my favorite products on this piece are the leaves and butterfly which are from the Wooden Icons Flowers and Leaves by Prima. These are from the 2013 Winter Release. YMH carries all of the sets as well as some of the latest collections, which you can find here at awesome prices!

The flowers are from the 2012 Summer Grab Bag... there are still some of these available in the store as well. Be sure to snag one before they are gone.

Below are some close ups... you can see that I colored the leaves and butterfly using some mists. You can leave these natural straight from the box, or color them using so many things... like paint, mist, gelatos, marker, distress stain, distress ink, stamps and more! The possibilities are endless. Plus, they come in a fantastic box which can be used for an altered project.

I hope you have enjoyed my little card today... hopefully it brings some Spring to your day even if the weather where you are doesn't feel much like it!

Have a great one!

Today I'm sharing a card I whipped up last night using some Prima DP and some Pink Paisley embellishments. I wanted to create something with an ocean feel to it. Something cozy and warm. I encourage you today to stop by the store and check out some of Kristina's latest offerings! With all the new CHA releases, it's hard to decide on just one! :P Thank you for joining me again and I pray that your weekend will be a blessed one. Take care and until next time!

She Made Art - Mixed Media

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share a project I made using some of the fun items available at the Your Memories Here store.

I have been eyeing all the yummy goodies from Prima's Winter 2013 collection and decided to try my hand a paper doll inspired by Julie Nutting.  For the background I used some older Prima papers I had in my stash as well as lots of mists, paints, and rub ons.
I then decorated my lovely with papers from my Glitz Cashmere Dame papers, prima bling, Stickles, and a simple flower.
Finally I used a bit of packaging and my Prima Press to make the title.

It has been a while since I made anything mixed media and I must say I had a lot of fun.

Be sure and stop by the Your Memories Here store and check out all the new goodies coming in from CHA.     And, please excuse our mess as we get everything into the store and reorganized.

Hugs.

Springtime Thoughts

Now that the days are longer, the sun is out sooner, and stays out longer I am constantly thinking of how close we are to Spring! And Spring means flowers, butterflies, green leaves, green grass, and warmer weather!

Because Spring is on the mind, I had to make this cute canvas to share with you today, using products from the Your Memories Here store.

The canvas was super simple to create. I took the canvas, and decoupaged some patterned paper on the background using Helmar Decoupage. After it dried, I added acrylic paints in blues and greens over the papers to create the sky and grass.

Stamps were used in various places over the background using the Build a Swirls Stamp Set by Prima along with some others. I used the same stamps on the other elements of the canvas as well, such as the flowers and butterfly which are from the Summer CHA Prima Grab Bag

I created the flower stems using book paper that I had inked with Distress Stain in Bundled Sage and Crushed Olive. Modeling paste mixed with alcohol ink created the grass like texture on the bottom of the canvas. More Distress Stain in the two colors used on the stems was added to the paste.

I added Tattered Rose and Crushed Olive Distress Stickles to the leaves for some added texture. They were stamped on after the Stickles had dried.

To finish off the piece I added the quote, doodles, some rubons.

Here are some close ups of the piece so that you can see the texture.

Below are the products used from the store. Feel free to click on any of them to take you to them in the store!

I hope that my canvas has brought you Spring thoughts!

Have a wonderful day!!

Just For You!

Hi Friends! Well, it's been a long and arduous week at work....again....LOL I have been rushing rushing rushing!! Especially since we lost the extra hour it seems like. I just received my Pink Paislee stash this week and decided to throw together a card for a co-worker undergoing surgery on Tuesday. I wanted to give her a little encouragement during her recovery and Kristina's store, Your Memories Here, always has just what I need! All of the embellishments you see are Pink Paislee excluding the lace which is Prima and the sentiment from another source. I thought it came together fairly easily and turned out just the way I wanted! I love when a plan comes together! :P and just as a friendly reminder, Your Memories Here has or will have soon the latest and greatest Prima yumminess! But, in the meantime, Kristina has lots of other fabulous creative tools to help you create the perfect project. So make sure to stop by and take a look! Thank you for joining me today and I hope you all have a terrific week ahead!

thank you!

This is my last post with YMH; my design team term is up. I want to than Kristina for having me - it's been so much fun! With that said, I created a thank you card for this week. Appropriate, right? :)

I used the Hello Friend Glitz Design 6x6 paper pad. This is my favorite of the four because of the pretty pinks.

I used the hexagon net/chicken wire Prima stamp with shabby tote Prima chalk ink. This is actually a really pretty color, almost a metallic.

I grabbed a Pink Paislee Mistable journaling tag and used the shabby tote Prima chalk ink on it as well. I stamped the sentiment with the white Prima chalk ink. Then I popped the tag off the page with a couple Helmar zap dots.

Thanks for having me & you can always find me on my blog: Markland & Main.

Shabby Shadow Box

Shabby and me do not go well together from my past experience trying it out. However, the project I have for you today seemed to work out pretty well. I used some great products that you can find in the Your Memories Here Store to create it.

I only recently discovered the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Configurations boxes, and was instantly hooked. These are so fun to play with. You can use them for shadow boxes, as a canvas, or both!

I used mine for a bit of both. I flipped over some of the boxes and made them look like drawers simply by covering them in some Prima papers, Distress stain, acrylic paint, and then adding a button for the handle. Super simple but really cute! I did adhere them to the box so that they can't be pulled out since they aren't actually working drawers.

I left two of the boxes flipped open so they are mini shadow boxes.  I added a charm from my Summer 2012 CHA Prima Grab Bag to one of the boxes and a spool wrapped in some lovely lace in the other. The entire piece was topped off with some Prima Flowers.

It turns out this piece will be headed to a restaurant in the St. Charles, MO area where my brother works. It fits the decor and they would like to have it! I was so thrilled to hear that they wanted it! My brother will be delivering it to them this week. I will take photos of it once it is in it's new home.

Here are some close ups...

The following products from the store were used in today's project:

Hope you enjoyed today's shabby box! See you next week!
